Outreach and Engagement Strategist

Reports to: N/A (Works Independently with accountability to the organization).

Job Overview

The Outreach and Engagement Strategist is responsible for building connections with the broader community, managing outreach initiatives, and promoting the mission and services of Individual and Family Connection (IFC). This role combines marketing, community outreach, and public relations to develop and implement strategies that strengthen IFC’s reputation, relationships, and visibility. Collaborating closely with the Marketing Coordinator and other Lead team members, this role supports internal staff in their marketing efforts, manages digital platforms and oversees external communications.

This role requires a highly motivated and self-directed individual.  It is most ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, enjoys managing their own projects, and is driven to achieve results without direct supervision.  You will be responsible for managing key initiatives and delivering high quality outcomes that align with the organization’s goals. 

Primary Responsibilities

Community Engagement and Outreach

  • Develop and execute community outreach strategies aligned with IFC’s mission.

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, referral sources, and local organizations.

  • Plan and coordinate special events (e.g., holiday gifts, referral appreciation activities).

  • Represent IFC at community events, council meetings, and networking opportunities.

  • Organize and schedule outreach presentations, including staff involvement and coverage.

  • Oversee the selection, purchase, and distribution of marketing materials and employee apparel.

Staff Training and Support

  • Create bios for new therapists to be added to our website. 

  • Collect appropriate headshots of new therapists, hang them on the headshot walls. 

  • Add bios and headshots to our website by coordinating with our Marketing and Website designer. 

  • Train new hires on IFC’s marketing policies, strategies, and methods.

  • Create training materials, such as videos, guides, and handbook updates.

  • Encourage and oversee staff participation in marketing efforts, ensuring alignment with IFC’s goals and expectations.

Digital Marketing and Content Creation

  • Manage IFC’s social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter).

  • Create, curate, and post engaging content, including photos, graphics, and videos.

  • Research and implement effective hashtags, monitor engagement, and respond to direct messages.

  • Create and manage bi-weekly newsletters, leveraging therapist blogs and SEO practices.

  • Design blog graphics using Canva and promote blogs via social media.

  • Track and report social media analytics to identify high-performing campaigns.

Public Relations and Communications

  • Develop and distribute press releases, blog posts, and newsletters.

  • Send out email blasts to clients about important information (office closures, events, etc)

  • Build relationships with local and statewide media, influencers, and strategic partners.

  • Coordinate media outreach and track IFC mentions in press outlets.

  • Ensure IFC’s brand and voice are consistent across all external communications.

Event Coordination

  • Plan, manage, and support live and virtual events, including logistics and coordination with vendors, volunteers, and staff.

  • Maintain a calendar of marketing and outreach activities, including events and campaigns.

  • Join Monthly Management Meetings with updates and progress reports.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with digital platforms, including social media and email marketing.

  • Knowledge of SEO and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, WordPress).

  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Creativity and initiative to develop engaging marketing strategies.
